Fail or Holy Grail Review: Holy Grails of 2016

Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about my Holy Grails of 2016! Last week I talked about my Fails of 2016, and this is a great way to keep track of whether the Holy Grails stay Holy Grails throughout the year!

What I Love
- Has a nice citrus scent (with alcohol)
- Absorbs super quickly
- Leaves a matte finish on my skin
- Inexpensive at $25NZD
- Great size at 50g (travel friendly!)

What I Don't Love
- Strong alcohol scent initially

This sunscreen started off as a Holy Grail for me, and I went through three tubes of it, but after a while it started to make my skin slightly rashy which is a little disturbing. It's most likely just a reaction to the alcohol in the sunscreen, so I stopped using it over the winter when me skin is dry. I'll be trying it out again soon though!

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Scaler
What I Love
- Inexpensive at $27NZD for 12 applications ($2.25 per application)
- Works amazingly well
- Makes hair super soft and clean
- Eliminated my dandruff
- So easy to use
- Helps control oil in hair
- Makes my scalp feel so cool and fresh

What I Don't Love
- Nothing!

I still adore this! I recently opened another pack since the initial 3 pack lasted me 9 months.

Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect First Serum
What I Love
- Smells super sweet
- Sturdy, cute packaging
- Hydrates, and brightens my skin
- Super quick to absorb
- Gives my skin a subtle glow
- Doesn't leave my skin feeling oily

What I Don't Love
- I'm worried the glass will break while travelling!

I miss this product so much, I'm currently trialling the 2x essential and light version to see which of the new formulas works best for my skin so I can repurchase it.

Petitfee Gold and Snail Hydrogel Eye Patch
What I Love
- Smooths out fine lines
- Hydrates under eye area
- Brightens under eye area
- Feels quite luxurious

What I Don't Love
- Tingle under eye slightly

I still adore these, and recently tried the Black Pearl version and don't like it nearly as much as I like these!

Beauty Blender
What I Love
- I don't consider them expensive at $34NZD
- Blends make up seamlessly
- Easy to use
- The solid cleanser is really nice too

What I Don't Love
- Nothing

Still in love with these. So much better than the cheap sponges.

Dolly Wink Liquid Eye Liner

What I Love
- Super cute packaging
- Easy to create thin, or thick lines
- Lovely colours
- Inexpensive at around $20NZD and last a long time
- Doesn't smudge on slightly oily lids

What I Don't Love
- Nothing!

I think I'm onto my 5th black liner now. Still a HG for me!

Etude House Etoinette Heart Highlighter

What I Love
- Beautiful, elegant packaging
- Lightweight and resilient packaging
- Three subtle highlight colours
- Highlight shades can be used separately or mixed together
- Really subtle, very suited for my "look"

What I Don't Love
- Hearts are so, sadly fragile

I use this so sparingly because it's expensive, but again, I still love it!

Banila Co Miss Flower and Mr Honey Cream

What I Love
- Cute, functional packaging
- Smells amazing
- Spreads out evenly and sinks in quickly
- Makes my skin look and feel soft and healthy
- Just generally lovely to use

What I Don't Love
- Moderately expensive

I still love this cream, though it is getting slightly too heavy for summer time for my skin. I still use it a few times a week, just not every night like I would during Winter.

Mamonde Age Control Camellia Oil
What I Love
- Beautiful packaging
- Easy to use
- Inexpensive for an eye cream
- Works so well as a night eye cream
- Can be mixed with my night creams for super hydration
- Can also be mixed with BB Creams and Foundation for super dewy skin

What I Don't Love
- Nothing!

Still IN LOVE with this oil. It's one of my staples for travelling since it works beautifully under my eyes, but also boosts any moisturisers that I bring with my just in case my skin is a little dehydrated. LOVE.

Missha All-Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk
What I Love
- Cute, mostly functional packaging
- Great thin texture for layering
- Smells really lovely
- Dries down matte on my skin

What I Don't Love
- Packaging does leak through the cap a little

This has been a HG for me for so long, and I still absolutely adore it. It's my go-to Sunscreen, and I just wish Missha would fix the leaking lids!

Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot One Shot Peeling

What I Love
- Easy to use
- Very inexpensive
- Peeled my feet nicely

What I Don't Love
- Nothing

This peeled the dead skin off my feet, nothing more, nothing less than what it was supposed to do.

That is it for my Holy Grails of 2016! Next year I will only be doing a Fail or Holy Grail Review once per month, so alternating months of Fails or Holy Grails, because I feel like I'm under too much pressure to find a perfect or fail product once a month. I don't want to slag off a product just for the sake of having something to talk about for the month! But I hope you enjoyed hearing about my year of Holy Grails! ^ ^
