First Impression: Urban Decay Primer Potion; Original

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about Urban Decay's Primer Potion in the Original formula! As you might be able to tell, I have the old packaging of this product in miniature form as it came with my Naked 1 palette.

What Does It Do?
"Be armed and ready for shadow wherever you go. Our travel-size Eyeshadow Primer Potion makes shadow apply more smoothly and keeps your color vibrant and crease-free for 24 hours. And it’s paraben-free! Our gorgeous, revamped packaging now includes an applicator for even more versatility.

Once you’ve tried Eyeshadow Primer Potion, you'll never want to live without it. Our formula glides on smoothly, and space-age polymer technology fills in any imperfections on the skin’s surface, prepping your lids for all-day shadow. You’ll get all the versatility you need with our Original shade—it blends beautifully on all skin tones and dries invisibly.

Easy on the eyes in more ways than one, this coveted primer now comes in revamped packaging with gorgeous ombré artwork and a faceted, jewel-like cap. Squeeze the Potion directly from the tube or use the flocked wand applicator. Either way, you get precise, controlled application every time."(1

This primer is super easy to use with it's cute little applicator and is actually translucent in colour rather than flesh toned as it appears straight out of the pot. It's thin, easy to spread on the lids and dries down to a nice finish that's not tacky or sticky, but still allows eye shadow to adhere nicely.
I decided to test this primer out in comparison to no primer. Mostly because this is the only Eye Primer that I own! This Primer knocks no primer out of the water (obviously). I used my MAC's Cinderella palette to do this super simple everyday eye shadow look, and I can barely see it on the un-primed side.
The primed side looks so much nicer than the un primed side, and lasted so much longer without creasing. The colour is so much more vibrant, and so much easier to apply, I literally had to pack the colour on the un primed side to make it look a little more even!
Would I Purchase This Product?
Potentially! This product is only $34 NZD from Beauty Bay, and it really is quite good! I don't have any other eye primers to compare it to, and would really love to try out some Korean eye primers, but I don't really know if there are any good ones! But we can all see that it's definitely better than nothing!

Let me know your thoughts on this primer, and if you know of any good Korean ones! ^.^

  1. Try the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer, it's amazing and it's better than this one in my opinion. And also much much cheaper.

  3. I don't know any Korean primers, but my current favourite is the Milani Eye Primer. It's so cheap from BeautyJoint and lasts for AGES! I have oily lids too and it works so, so well.
