First Impression: Meow Cosmetics Camo Cats Colour Correcting Concealers
Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about the Meow Cosmetics Camo Cats Colour Correcting Concealers! These products are really interesting, they claim to provide different aspects of colour concealing for different areas and problems on the skin! Almost all of the colours cancel out redness and acne scars, so they are suitable for me to use on my entire face rather than spot concealing. These only come in one shade which is SUPER pale!
What Does It Do?
"Based on the simplicity of color cancelling pigments and aided by the multiple luxurious properties of Silk, these glorious Color Correcting Concealers are the newest addition to the Meow Cosmetics line up.
Camo-Cats c3 Enriched with the moisture balancing and anti-inflammatory benefits of Pure Silk Powder, our Color Correcting Concealers are unlike any other mineral concealer. They were specially formulated to color correct for a plethora of different imperfections while creating the purrrfect blank canvas for mineral foundations in the process.
Their supple texture and blendable consistency makes them simple and quick to apply, while concealing a multitude of color related imperfections in an instant. Each shade is designed to conceal specific skin discolorations ranging from bruising and redness to extremely dark undereye circles. Silk Powder offers numerous benefits for the skin, including it's numerous amino acids, but it's really it's moisture balancing "wonder" as it can self-adjust to allow for changes in temperature and humidity. We recommend a 2-year shelf life on this product from the date of purchase."(1)
CC Yellow is a great colour for my skin tone, but it's so, so dry. So dry. It makes it hard to blend the actual foundation into the skin without buffing away the colour corrector! The CC Yellow shade doesn't cover very much of my acne scarring and my red nose and cheeks still show through.
These Camo Cats really bring out the fine hair on my face, I almost have a full goatee going on! Please excuse the sore looking lips - Oratane is wreaking havoc on my lips but clearing my skin!

Yellow
Covers Acne, Redness, Blotchiness, Rosacea, purple shadows, undereye circles, blue veins, Dark Spots
I was really interested to see the colour differences between my shade of foundation in Angora in comparison to the Camo Cats Yellow shade! CC Yellow is much brighter yellow, very banana like in tone but also much more different in texture, it looks so dry.CC Yellow is a great colour for my skin tone, but it's so, so dry. So dry. Green
Covers Sallowness, Redness, Acne, Rosacea, port wine stains
I initially thought that the CC Green would be my favourite colour, but I feel like the Camo Cat colours are much more prominent than the foundation colour is. This colour makes me look seriously pale and seriously sick, so much so that my sister was very surprised and actually thought I was sick! This colour did cover up my red acne scars really well, but it was so intense that when I tried to specifically spot conceal it was just so obvious. Not a good look.
Blue
When Green concealer makes you appear sallow, try blue as an alternative. Also covers ruddiness
This blue is BLUE. Like with the other shades, I chose to apply this over my entire face rather than spot concealing because I have a lot of redness and acne over my face. I'm glad that I did because the colour is so vibrant that if I did spot conceal I wouldn't be able to blend it into the rest of the makeup. It's so blue that the yellow toned foundation over the top of it literally does nothing and I look really, really sick.
This shade was really hard to blend and left me with non coloured spots and bits that had too much product. It was difficult to use and made my face look blue, it didn't even cover up much of the redness or acne either which was much more disappointing to me.

Lavender
Covers Sallowness, Yellow/Brown Bruises, Pigmentation issues and dark spots on bronze skin tones
This shade doesn't really have any colour concealing properties that I would look for, but I got it just so I could have the set. This was perhaps the hardest shade for me to blend properly, you can see the bare patches where there isn't enough pigment because it's been blended away. This colour makes me look very ill too.
Would I Purchase These Products?
No. I feel like these are so drying for the skin and it really enhances any flakey skin as well as my pores. The shades are too pale for me (say whaat) and the colours are so vibrant that they're visible when spot concealing or just using over the entire face. I'm not 100% sure who to recommend these products to, but if you're looking for super pale colour correctors that are quite vibrant, give these products a go! ^.^Monday, 3 August 2015
Fail or Holy Grail Review: Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer
Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about the Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer in the shade 1 Light Beige. There is a second shade: 2 Natural Beige, which is much darker in tone and more of an Olive Yellow, but no pink based shade. I can't actually find this for sale anywhere any more, so I'm not 100% sure if this is still produced!
"Hide flaws and freckles on skin.
Naturally covered without darkening"(1)
This shade is a little darker than I would like, it doesn't quite fit with my natural skin tone and its dark in comparison to my foundations. This concealer is really thick and has a soft creamy consistency. It dries down matte which makes it quite long lasting. The matte finish makes it an average under eye concealer. It tends to bring out the fine lines under my eyes more than if I was using nothing. I only need a small amount of the concealer for under my eyes, but it doesn't really provide the most coverage there. I don't really have dark circles or anything that needs concealing too much anyway!
This concealer actually works quite well on dark scarring, but only if there is no raised lumps or dry skin. It does emphasise any pores which isn't great, and it doesn't cover the scarring entirely, but it does last a good amount of time without fading!
It is absolutely awful on any dry patches of skin or raised acne. This is a really bad breakout (caused and helped by the acne treatment Oratane which I'll be talking about soon!) but it's not a good look at all. It looked even worse when set with powder!
What I Love
- Inexpensive (from what I can remember!)
- Cutesy little pot
- Long lasting
What I Don't Love
- Emphasises fine lines and pores
- Awful on any dry skin
- A little too dark for my skin
- Un-hygienic packaging
- Un-hygienic packaging
Final Thoughts
This concealer isn't bad at all, but it's just not suitable for me! It's super thick, creamy and pigmented, but since it dries down matte it just looks awful on any dry skin and really emphasises the fine lines under my eyes. The colour is a couple of shades darker than my own skin tone which makes it really difficult to blend, not to mention that the little pot you dip your finger into is quite unhygienic.I think this concealer is more suited towards anyone that wants to conceal freckles or flat scarring, rather than anyone who has acne or dark eye circles.

First Impression: NARS Radient Creamy Concealer
Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Chantilly! I picked up a baby tester pot from Mecca Cosmetica in Auckland because one of my favorite pale guru's, Arna Alayne, raves about it as one of her favorite pale products. Even though Arna is cool toned and I'm warm toned, the product still works for both of us which is fantastic!
What Is It?
"Coveted by artists for its luxurious texture and luminous finish, the
Radiant Creamy Concealer evens skin with lightweight medium to high
buildable coverage. Enriched with hydrating, multi-action skincare
benefits and light diffusing technology, it creates a softer, smoother
complexion while instantly obscuring imperfections and diminishing fine
lines and signs of fatigue. Long wearing and crease-proof for the
perfect cover" (1)
(This is YSL CC cream in purple with NARS Siberia against my pale white neck. Tragic.)
I trialled this concealer in two different ways, the first being a spot concealer. I had three baby cystic pimples to cover, and one light layer of the NARS concealer worked really well. Of course the bumps will never disappear into the skin with the use of concealer, but this concealer did better than any other I have owned! It was smooth, easy to blend and not cakey at all which I love!
The second test was to use the concealer for my under eye and eyelid area. It did fairly well at brightening up my eye area and neutralizing redness. It's a nice option for the times when I want a brightening, but not a heavily concealed look.
Here I have the concealer on the left eye only. It looks a lot brighter than the right side, but the lines on the left seem more apparent. Yes, one of my eyebrows is misshapen, the hair doesn't grow there due to scars and I haven't filled them in yet.
Would I Purchase This Product?
Probably! It is a little pricey at $46NZD, but it really is a lovely product that works well with all of my foundation and BB Creams. I thought it worked really well as a spot cover, as well as around the eye area, and it's brightening for my pale skin (which is a rare thing!). I would totally recommend this concealer for any other pale beauties, and if you can try it before buying it that's even better! ^. ~
What is your all-time favorite concealer?
