Review: Skinfood Red Orange Jelly BB Cream - No.01 Light Beige

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be showing you a super interesting BB Cream - the Skinfood Red Orange Jelly BB Cream! This is my first Jelly textured BB Cream and being unsure of what the colour would turn out like, I bought a 10 piece sample set from RoseRoseShop!
"This flexible jelly pudding BB cream contains moisture-rich revitalizing ingredients from orange to keep your skin ultra moisturized and to create a hydrated and jelly-like resilient skin with a smooth finish.

* To Use

Put a moderate amount of cream on your hand and tap around on your skin. Use a modicum amount for each use because it contains lots of hydration, and then make sure to put the cap back on not to lose hydration." (1
The BB Cream is super thick and literally jelly textured! The initial swatches look super thick and creamy, but it actually blends out to be kinda watery. The wet swatches also look pretty dark but it sheers out fairly light, but definitely yellow toned. It's quite a similar shade to MAC Studio Sculpt in NC15 (the lightest out of the MAC NC range). This BB Cream is super easy to apply - I use my fingers to apply it - and feels super soft and hydrating.
This BB Cream is a little darker than I would like, but it's pretty workable! It provides a lovely even finish that covers the majority of my acne scarring and lighter freckles, however, it's not any good for oil control as you can see in the last photo!
Things I Love
- Almost light enough
- Easy to apply
- Doesn't oxide darker
- Very hydrating
- Good for dry patches (doesn't cling or emphasize)

Things I Don't Love
- Dries out very fast
- Not great for oil control
- It would be lovely if it was a little lighter!
Final Thoughts
I really love the thought of this Jelly BB Cream! It's super hydrating (perhaps a little too hydrating for oily skin) and comes in a great light colour for normal fair skinned folks. I did find that the sample pots dried up in one day (even with the plastic flap stuck down) so if you're wanting to purchase this BB Cream make sure you seal the lid as soon as you finish applying the BB Cream!

I think this BB Cream is definitely best for dry skinned girls that are the normal fair NC15-NC20 range of colour. It's a very similar colour to MAC Studio Sculpt NC15 and the Etude House Cotton Fit BB Cream No.02!

Have you princesses tried this Jelly BB Cream? What are your thoughts? ^.^

Manicure Monday: Etude House XOXO Minnie In The Nails

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be doing a little review on some super cute nails polishes, bought to you by the ever adorable Etude House. Honestly, every time they have a new product release I have to struggle to not just buy absolutely everything they bring out. It makes me poor - but at least my beauty products look SUPER CUTE.
I purchased these polishes way back in November 2013 but due to some unfortunate problems with one of the products (coupled with my laziness) I wasn't able to post or review any of the products until just recently - so if you'd like to check out the rest of the super cute stuff I purchased, click here!
Etude House - XOXO Minnie In The Nails - No.01 Minnie Red - $3.00
First up is Minnie Red! I struggled a little with the application of this polish because I felt like it was quite thick and made it hard for me to make a nice curve around the base of my nail where I would normally have no troubles! I really like the colour of this polish, but I cannot get away without wearing a topcoat because the colour by itself looks very flat and flawed.

All of these polishes are marketed as "Gel Effect Nail" but I didn't really feel or see any gel effect from these polishes. The polishes didn't last any longer than normal and they certainly didn't have that glossy gel polish look either, so I'm not sure why they are supposed to be Gel Effect.

Etude House - XOXO Minnie In The Nails - No.06 Minnie Black Face  - $3.00
I absolutely loved this glitter topper! I don't always go for glitter toppers which is why I only bought one out of the four advertised - but rest assured that I will be buying the other three toppers soon! I did have to fish for the mouse heads and larger hexagonal glitters since they did sink a little, but it wasn't too bad and gives a lovely polka dot effect with very little effort!

The formula for Bubble Pink is the same as Minnie Red, which is a little on the thick side. A lot of people have said that they struggle to apply this polish without getting horrible streaks - but for me personally after three coats (my normal polish routine) I don't have any streaks or problems. I definitely need a top coat for that gorgeous full, glossy effect though.
The Minnie Nail Glitter is actually pretty handy! I've seen people create their own glitter toppers with it, but I prefer to just stick them onto a plain polish. The Glitter comes in three different shapes - Mouse heads, polka dots and bows! The polka dots are especially helpful for lazy/nail art challenged people like me who want to create perfectly dotted manicures.
As you can see in the Bubble Pink  manicure - not all of the mouse heads are evenly made, and it's really easy to get polish onto the glitters when you're placing them. Also, trying to move the placed glitters will make wrinkles in your polish. :C

For the price - I really like these polishes! I wouldn't buy them if they were over $5, but for $3 I will try to complete the set! ^.^

Have you princesses tried the XOXO Minnie In The Nails polishes? What did you think about them?

Sunday Swatches: Concealer Swatches

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be showing you my collection of Concealers! ^.^ A couple of these concealers are actually more like highlighters (YSL and MAC) but I use them to brighten my under eye area and conceal my baby dark circles, so I thought I would include them in this post!
(This swatch of Meow Cosmetics Concealer isn't very good - check out the bigger swatch for a more accurate photo)

1 - Meow Cosmetics Concealer - Himalayan
2 - Meow Cosmetics Undereye Concealer - Himalayan
3 - Meow Cosmetics Concealer - Bengal
4 - Meow Cosmetics Undereye Concealer - Bengal
5 - Meow Cosmetics Concealer - Angora
6 - Meow Cosmetics Undereye Concealer - Angora
7 - Art Deco Camouflage Cream - 2
8 - Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat - 02
9 - MAC Prep + Prime - Radiant Rose
 10 - Maybelline Mineral Power - Ivory
11 - MAC Pro Longwear - NW13
12 - TonyMoly Baby doll pot concealer - Light Beige
13 - Moisture Mist  Circle Lightner - 251 Pale
14 - Dermal Cover Camouflage Makeup - Paradise
15 - Natio Young Camouflage Tinted Spot Cream
Woohoo concealers! My most used concealer is actually MAC Prep + Prime - Radiant Rose, which you might think is a weird choice since I have yellow toned skin, but the pink colour brightens a lot more effectively than a yellow colour, and also helps to give my face a bit of colour (not unlike using a blusher!)
I hope you Princesses enjoyed this post! Feel free to share these swatch pictures - but please provide a link to this blog post if you do! xx

What sort of swatches would you like to see next?

First Impressions: The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about possibly one of my favorite tester pots in a while - The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter! This is an accidental favorite, because I wasn't intending on picking up a sample pot of this cleanser (since I have 6 to use currently)  but I was offered one and couldn't say no!

What Does It Do?
"This cleanser is an indulgent make-up remover for the whole face. It gently and efficiently melts away make-up and impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and pampered.

  • Gently melts away make-up
  • Leaves skin feeling clean and petal-soft
  • Removes all types of make-up
  • Suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers

 Full Ingredients:

Ethylhexyl Palmitate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Synthetic Wax (Binder/Emollient), PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil (Emollient), Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (Skin Conditioning Agent - Emollient), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance), Aqua/Water (Solvent/Diluent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (Emollient), Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract (Natural Additive), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster)

How To Use:
Apply to dry face and massage into skin. Rinse off with warm water or remove with a wet muslin cloth for a more thorough cleanse." (1)
The amount shown above is more than enough to cleanse my whole face which makes it very cost effective! This cleanser is incredible soft on the skin and literally melts like butter on application - if you haven't tried it before, I recommend going into your local Body Shop to have a play!
The Cleansing Butter is great for the delicate eye area, and thoroughly cleanses and removes any waterproof eye makeup! It leaves my skin feeling super silky soft and hydrated. I follow this cleanser up with a gentle cream cleanser, but it's not necessary to double cleanse!
Would I Purchase This Product?
YES. I absolutely love this cleanser and will definitely be purchasing the full size after I use up all of my other already open cleansers >< This cleanser worked really well for removing makeup, cleansing the skin and leaving it soft and hydrated without being oily, which is great if I have a late night and just don't have the time/energy to double cleanse!

I would totally recommend this cleanser to anyone wanting a gentle but effective cleanser that's not drying on the skin. ^.^ Have any of you princesses tried this cleanser before?
