Review: I.Fairy Lucius Brown

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am going to review my newest set of lens! I always have trouble with the plural of contact lens. Is it lens? Or lenses? Anyway...
I received these lens for free after coming second in ISZO's monthly photo competition on their facebook page! To win this competition all you have to do is get your friends and family to like a photo of you wearing lenses you purchased from ISZO. It's as simple as that!
I chose I.Fairy's Lucius Brown lens. I decided I wanted a more wearable lens, so I chose something that was close to my own eye colour that would blend in and look more natural.
Diameter : 16.2mm
Base Curve : 8.6mm
Center Thickness : 0.04mm
Water Content : 55%
Lens' Lifetime : 1 Year Disposable

One Lens
Indoor
Outdoor
Flash

Colour and design:
I love the colour and design! I thought it would be difficult to find a lens that matched my eye colour but I got it first time! ^^ They look perfect!

Enlargement:
I like the enlargement, but I think they would be a lot more natural if they were smaller.

Comfort:
These are sadly not that comfortable! I've only worn them twice and both times when I popped them into my eyes they stung like crazy for about 3 minutes. After the mad stinging they are completely fine.

Overall:
I really love the look these lens give me, but I don't like how much they hurt when putting them in. I'm not sure why they're so uncomfortable, but they sure are pretty! ^^
And my super cute new camera!

Manicure Monday: Cinderella Inspired Nails

Hello Lovelies!

I've recently become part of my local Nail Polish addicts face book group (which is possibly a lot more exciting than it sounds!) So you may end up hearing lots more about nail polish! In the two weeks I've been a part of their group I've bought more than 20 polishes. Although I'm not sure if that's a good thing, I'm getting poor way too fast! ><
This week I was inspired from the group discussion briefly mentioning Disney Princess nail art.The more I thought about it the more I wanted to try it!
So I decided to try Cinderella.I think this was the first Disney movie I ever saw!
As most of you know, I'm pretty terrible at nail art, so I tried to depict the material of Cinderella's ball gown. The one thing I remember about Disney movies was that the beautiful ball gowns always have that gorgeous, unreal, sparkling material that you can never emulate in real life no matter how hard you try. *sigh* That material would make one beautiful performance dress.
I used my Sally Hansen - Flash, polish mixed with a white polish to make the pale blue. I created a gradient effect with a fine silver glitter polish, and finished the mani with a chunky hexagonal glitter polish.

Of course two seconds after taking my photos I squished two fingernails together and smudged most of the polish off *sigh* I'm waiting for a quick dry topcoat to come and save my manicures!

Manicure Monday: Buttercups

Hello Lovelies!

This Monday I decided to try out one of my new shades from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure range called Buttercup. I bought this at the same store I bought Essie's Pink-a-boo which I wore for my previous Manicure Monday.

I was hunting for a pale pastel yellow, and this polish looked good from the outside, but once applied it turns into a bright banana colour. I love banana's, (I'm eating one right now!) but I wasn't after bright yellow, I wanted pastel! *stamps feet* I wouldn't usually match the pastel pink Second Honeymoon by OPI with banana yellow, but I honestly thought they would both be cute pastel colours.
Oh well!

On the first time application I tried the colour over my natural nails and was immediately disappointed in the opacity of the polish (it's super see-though!) So I tried the other hand with a white base coat, which worked much better. I still had some problems building up enough colour to cover the base and I ended up using four rather thick coats of Buttercup and Second Honeymoon.

I like the shade, but I probably wouldn't use it as a solid nail colour since it doesn't really match my skin tone well.

Visiting Hobbiton

Hello Lovelies!
Today I wanted to share with you my visit to Hobbiton! I actually visited during the summer time in New Zealand (February to be more precise) and have just taken two months to find the best pictures! I think I took more than 400 pictures :3
This post is going to be super photo heavy with some half remembered facts from the tour. ><
(This is the road where Frodo waits for Gandalf in The Fellowship of the Ring)

The set of Hobbiton is located in Matamata, which is a mere 30-40 minute drive away from Hamilton. My mother, younger sister and I decided to visit while we were driving from Gisborne to Hamilton before University started.
The tour takes you onto a very old school bus with a driving tour guide and your Hobbiton tour guide. The drive to Hobbiton is about 5minutes along a narrow dirt road on a steep incline with an impressive drop while the driver drives way too fast. I was impressed I hadn't vomited or pooped my pants by the time we got to Hobbiton. Seriously nerve testing stuff.
Hobbiton was originally built for the Lord of the rings trilogy and was to be demolished after the movie was completed. However they only got halfway through the demolitions when the owner of the farm it was built on stepped in to save the rest to turn it into guided tour's of Hobbiton! When The Hobbit film was being produced, they decided to rebuild Hobbiton as a permanent structure.

The 26-ton oak tree overlooking Bag End was cut down and brought in from near Matamata. Each branch was numbered and chopped, then transported, placed, and bolted back together according to Peter Jackson's whims. Artificial leaves were then imported from Taiwan and individually wired onto the dead tree to give it life.

Most of the hobbit holes are actually really small and are all built to a certain scale. Sam and Rosie's hobbit hole is the only hobbit hole built to a 100% scale.

If you're over 5ft 2ins you are too tall to act as a male hobbit. If you are over 5ft you are too tall to act as a female hobbit.

At the end of the tour you come to the green dragon inn and get a free ginger beer! Super cute! ^^

I had so much fun at Hobbiton! I totally recommend this to anyone who lives here, or comes to New Zealand for a holiday.
