Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about two serums sent to me by review by a brand called Unik! I chose to try out the Black Snail Restore Serum as well as the Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum because I already know my skin loves snail and propolis. There was also a really beautiful looking Rose Galactomyces Serum which I really wanted to try, but my skin does NOT do well with fermented ingredients (more on that later) so I decided to skip the rose serum.

Black Snail Restore Serum
This serum makes developing the strength of the skin and your skin will be supple and smooth. (Black Snail Extract 70%, Centella Asiatica Leaf Water 10%)
Skin Restore, Nutrition, Calming, Smooth Skin, Skin Barrier Reinforcement
Skin Restore, Nutrition, Calming, Smooth Skin, Skin Barrier Reinforcement
This serum is pretty big at 50ml and only costs $15USD! It has an elegant bottle that comes with a functional dropper top. The serum is clear in colour and has a thin gel like texture that's easy to spread out and absorbs quickly.
I find that this serum is pretty lightweight and is more suitable for my skin during summer since it's not quite enough hydration and nourishment for me during winter. It provides light hydration, but for me it's not substantial.
Unfortunately, this serum has three fermented ingredients which cause breakouts on my skin. Check out the cluster around my chin, I'm not super happy with that as I had just cleared my skin up! This is my fault for not checking the ingredients list beforehand, but I just didn't expect it to have three fermented ingredients. Sadly I could only use this for one week before I realised that it was the culprit for the sneaky acne.
Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum
This Effective Optimal Synergy Serum includes the unique and optimal ratio, Propolis 70% and Vitamin C (Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract) 12% by iUNIK. It can make Calming & Brightening for Sensitive Skin.

This serum is lightly hydrating (though a little more hydrating than the snail) and would be best used for me during the warmer summer weather. It's not quite heavy enough for me to use during the night in colder months, my skin feels like it needs more, but it's a great lightweight serum for the day time.
However I found this serum extremely pleasant to use. I noticed very subtle brightening from the Niacinimide and my skin definitely felt very soft too. The results are very much in line with the price point, it's a lovely serum to use if you're starting up an Asian Beauty skincare routine.
What I Love
- Very inexpensive
- Elegant, function packaging
- Both serums are easy to use
- Propolis Serum is lightly hydrating
- Proplis Serum provides subtle brightening

What I Don't Love
- Snail serum is full of ferments (not good for my skin)
- Both serums are very lightweight (not enough for night use or winter use)
- Both serums are very lightweight (not enough for night use or winter use)
Final Thoughts
I think that both the Snail and Propolis Serums are great products if you're starting out an Asian Beauty Skincare routine since they are very lightweight and easy to use, but also have a really great price point for beginners at around $15USD each for 50ml. Sadly the Snail serum did not work out for me because it contains fermented ingredients which causes my skin to break out, but I find the Propolis serum to be really nice to use and it's a great addition to my day time routine.
I would recommend either of these serums to any Princesses starting off an Asian Beauty Skincare routine and are looking for inexpensive serums to try out!
Sorry the snail didn't work for you. I'm about halfway through a bottle and it's nice enough light moisture for layering but nothing amazing. I have been eying their vitamin toner, it's supposed to have a nice moisturizing gel texture good for 7 skin.
