Review: Skinfood Premium Tomato Cool and Dry Sun Spray

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Skinfood Premium Tomato Cool and Dry Sun Spray! ^.^ I was really intrigued with this sunscreen spray, because rather than being a body spray like the thick, greasy Nivea body sprays, this is a fine mist, matte finish facial sunscreen spray!
"Goes on dry or moistened skin neatly without white residue! Refreshingly cools down skin fatigued from hot weather! Easy to carry and block UV rays! A cool & dry sun spray that contains tomato extract, which was grown in sunlight, is clearly sprayed on and neatly absorbed by skin.

*How to Use* Shake well before use. Spray a sufficient amount on skin (arms and legs) that is easily exposed to UV rays from 20cm or more, avoiding the skin around your eyes. Apply 15-20 minutes before going out.

Efficacy and effects: Protects skin from UV rays. (SPF50+ PA+++) Usage and volume: Shake well, take a sufficient amount and evenly apply on skin."(1)

"Ingredients: butane, propane, denatured alcohol, purified water, octinoxate (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate), homosalate, dimethicone, caprylyl methicone, octisalate (ethylhexyl salicylate), avobenzone (butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane), ensulizole (phenylbenzimidazole sulphonic acid), cetyl ditethicone, ethylhexyl palmitate, octocrylene, bemotrizinol (bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine), aminomethyl propanol, tomato extract (0.4 mg), plum extract, lotus extract, glycerin, cyclopentasiloxane, acrylate/dimethicone copolymer, 1,2-hexandiol, lactic acid, citric acid, fragrance"(2)
This spray comes housed in a standard aerosol spray can, which is totally bad for the environment, but oh so convenient. It produces a super fine mist in comparison to a spray pump which tends to spray out droplets which is great in this circumstance, since it provides a more even distribution of the product.
I originally purchased this sun spray to top up my sun protection midway through the day. As I'm sure most of you know, applying a sunscreen at the beginning of the day will not give enough protection from the sun after a certain amount of time, which is what the SPF or Sun Protection Factor is about. SPF refers to the theoretical amount of time you can stay in the sun before being burnt. The higher the SPF the longer you can theoretically stay in the sun without damage. However, your SPF may not be fully effective if it comes into contact with water, gets washed away by sweat, or has been applied unevenly. Most companies suggest reapplying your SPF every two hours, or sooner if you're swimming. But how do you re-apply your sunscreen on top of a full face of make up?

I stay out of the sun as much as I can, especially now that I'm taking oral acne medication which increases my chances of getting sunburnt drastically. But there are times when I can't avoid the sun (driving home from work, school or a long day shopping) so this is a must have product for me!
I couldn't get a photo of the spray nozzle in action, but if you're interested you can check it out in the video at the top of this review, also go and subscribe, go on, do it! This is what my hand looks like before and after I spray it with the Skinfood Premium Tomato Cool and Dry Sun Spray. I can't really see any difference between the two pictures!
I don't find that this Sun Spray makes my face feel or look greasy after spraying, but it does look a little dewy! I can't say for certain how effective this is at protecting the skin because generally you would need to pat a good amount of sunscreen into the skin, but I haven't been burnt or got any weird looking tan lines so that's very positive!

What I Love
- Oh so convenient
- Easy to use
- Inexpensive
- Doesn't leave a white cast or greasy residue

What I Don't Love
- Aerosol can is bad for the environment
- Can be applied unevenly

Final Thoughts
I really love this Sun Spray! It's so convenient and it's a really good product for any Princesses that need to top up their sun protection without having to apply a liquid on top of make up. I don't use this all the time because it is a little expensive to be applying 3x a day every day, but for the occasional use I think it's just fantastic ^.^

I would definitely recommend this Sun Spray for any Princesses looking to top up their sun protection throughout the day, just remember to apply enough!

    1. Ah this looks so useful! I'm always conscious of whether I'm wearing sunscreen or not and I hate reapplying it onto of makeup while I'm outside. With this product it seems like I can just spray it on top. I will definitely have to keep my eyes out for this :)

    2. It's such a useful product! It doesn't disturb makeup which is amazing, just be careful not to breathe too much in if you do end up using it! (:

    1. No not at all! That's a valid question though haha I didn't really talk about the scent at all. It's quite fragranced, a mix between a musky floral and sunscreen.
