Review: LUSH Angels On Bare Skin

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about one of my all time favourite cleansers - LUSH's Angels On Bare Skin! ^.^ I did a little First Impression on this cleanser about this time last year, and since then I've been through a couple of full sized tubs, so I can tell you for sure that I absolutely love it!
"Angelic, medieval cleansing wash with rose and lavender. Angels on Bare Skin is the Lush version of an expensive medieval skincare recipe. Rare, precious essential oils were first brought to Europe by the crusaders who encountered Arabian medicine. The church immediately banned them because their ability to alter states of mind was considered the devil’s work! But the final result was Cosmetics 1, Church 0. Rose oil and lavender oil were discovered to do wonderful things for the skin, too. Almost a thousand years later, you’d be hard pressed to find a better all round cleanser and exfoliator than Angels.

Quantitative Ingredients
We buy our ingredients from suppliers who do not test on animals
Ground Almonds (Prunus dulcis), Glycerine (Glycerine), Kaolin (Kaolin), Water (Aqua), Lavender Oil ((Lavandula angustifolia)), Rose Absolute (Rosa damascena), Chamomile Blue Oil (Matricaria chamomilla), Tagetes Oil (Tagetes minuta), Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax tonkinensis pierre), Lavender Flowers (Lavandula angustifolia), *Limonene (*Limonene), *Linalool (*Linalool)
Occurs naturally in essential oils" (1)

This gorgeous cleanser has lavender flowers and ground almonds as the active exfoliant ingredient. This is ultra soft on this skin, but provides a really good scrub while also smelling incredible!
You only need a small amount of the product to cleanse your face thoroughly, and when you add water it turns into a lovely paste! A 100g tub lasts quite a while, but be careful not to get water into the tub if you take it into the shower as it will melt!

What I Love
- Inexpensive at $18.90NZD
- Super gentle on the skin
- Exfoliates gently, but thoroughly

What I Don't Love
- Nothing!

Final Thoughts
I absolutely adore this cleanser and I can't recommend it enough! I works perfectly for my skin, giving me a thorough cleanse and exfoliate without making my skin feel scratchy or tight, and smells so delightful! Paula's Choice Beautypedia talks about the Lavender and Rose Oils being irritating for the skin, but I genuinely have no issue with it, take her reviews with a grain of salt for sure!

I would recommend this cleanser and exfoliator to any Princesses that want a lovely gentle scrub and enjoys the scent of Lavender! ^.^

  1. I used to love this cleanser when I was struggling with acne! Now that I'm mostly (touch wood) free of it and very very dry, I use another cleanser, but this is still very dear to my heart! The smell still brings back memories.
I tried their Fresh Farmacy a few years back when my skin was going through a sensitive phase, and it burnt the living bejeebus out of my face! I took it back and the saleswoman was shocked at how bad my skin looked. And it's meant to be for sensitive skin!
You should do a huge Lush bath bombs series! I love their bombs.

    1. Ooh i've heard some horror stories about Fresh Farmacy, at least (hopefully) you got a refund for a terrible suggestion!

OMG I would LOVE to do a Bath Bomb series, but my current house doesn't actually have a bath, and my parents just pulled theirs out, nuu!

    2. Lush used to do shower bombs, and I wish they would bring them back! They had a great hangover one! :(

    1. Thank you! ^.^ Haha honestly I'd love the excuse to review the bath bombs, but if a million people are doing it already I guess there's no point anyway!
