Fail or Holy Grail Review: Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer in the shade 1 Light Beige. There is a second shade: 2 Natural Beige, which is much darker in tone and more of an Olive Yellow, but no pink based shade. I can't actually find this for sale anywhere any more, so I'm not 100% sure if this is still produced!
"Hide flaws and freckles on skin. Naturally covered without darkening"(1)
This shade is a little darker than I would like, it doesn't quite fit with my natural skin tone and its dark in comparison to my foundations. This concealer is really thick and has a soft creamy consistency. It dries down matte which makes it quite long lasting.
The matte finish makes it an average under eye concealer. It tends to bring out the fine lines under my eyes more than if I was using nothing. I only need a small amount of the concealer for under my eyes, but it doesn't really provide the most coverage there. I don't really have dark circles or anything that needs concealing too much anyway!
This concealer actually works quite well on dark scarring, but only if there is no raised lumps or dry skin. It does emphasise any pores which isn't great, and it doesn't cover the scarring entirely, but it does last a good amount of time without fading!
It is absolutely awful on any dry patches of skin or raised acne. This is a really bad breakout (caused and helped by the acne treatment Oratane which I'll be talking about soon!) but it's not a good look at all. It looked even worse when set with powder!
 What I Love
- Inexpensive (from what I can remember!)
- Cutesy little pot
- Long lasting

What I Don't Love
- Emphasises fine lines and pores
- Awful on any dry skin
- A little too dark for my skin
- Un-hygienic packaging
 Final Thoughts
This concealer isn't bad at all, but it's just not suitable for me! It's super thick, creamy and pigmented, but since it dries down matte it just looks awful on any dry skin and really emphasises the fine lines under my eyes. The colour is a couple of shades darker than my own skin tone which makes it really difficult to blend, not to mention that the little pot you dip your finger into is quite unhygienic.

I think this concealer is more suited towards anyone that wants to conceal freckles or flat scarring, rather than anyone who has acne or dark eye circles.

  1. This is actually really really good high coverage concealer that doesn't look cakey but unfortunately it's a tad darker for me and way way more yellow than it should be. I can only use it my nose to hide redness and I have to blend it really really well. And it does look terrible on dry and flaky skin but honestly everything looks terribru when my skin is really dry.

    1. It definitely is a high coverage concealer, but it just makes my skin look so much drier than a lot of other different concealers! It's such a hard product to work with, especially when I have so many other better options ^.^
