Review - Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact

(Sponsored)
Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact! This little beauty has been on my wish list for quite some time now, partly due to it's super cute mint green packaging, and partly to do with it's claims to help control sebum! This product was kindly sent to me for review by Skinlosophy.
The INNISFREE No Sebum Mineral Pact comes housed in a simple, 100% recyclable card box printed with soy ink, and costs $16AUD from Skinlosophy. The box has English instructions as well as Korean, but no English ingredients. I actually can't find English ingredients anywhere!

The pressed powder packaging is simple and cute, with the compact being a lovely mint green colour and the powder itself embossed with leaves. The compact has no scent, and is quite a good size (smaller than my palm) - big enough to swirl a large brush in, but small enough to fit into a bag cellphone pocket. It comes with a cute little sponge and a clear plastic separator which makes this compact perfect for popping in your bag for touch ups!
Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact is an oil controlling pressed powder encased in a cute green packaging.

Formulated with nourishing Jeju natural minerals and mint extracts, this powder takes away shine from your face to leave you with fresh looking skin.

This powder pact is translucent in colour, making it perfect for every skin tone.

My favourite way to use this pressed powder is to swirl a fluffy brush into the powder and dab it lightly all over my face. The powder mattifies my face really well and leaves a very slight white cast. It helps my skin stay matte for about 5 hours, and then like most other setting powders it needs to be blotted and reapplied.
I find that this powder really smooths my pores out too which is an added bonus! ^.^

 What I Love
- Mattifies my face
- Leaves a slight white cast
- Recyclable packaging
- Helps smooth out pores

What I Don't Love
- Only stays oil free for about 5 hours
 Final Thoughts
I quite like this powder for touch ups during the day because it's so portable and instantly mattifies my face, however I prefer to use a loose powder to set my makeup at the start of the day rather than a pressed powder. I found that this pressed powder gave me about 5 hours of oil free skin and helped smooth out the pores around my nose, plus it's got super cute and functional packaging! I would definitely recommend this pressed powder for anyone wanting a cute, portable powder to help with short term oil control.

Thanks so much to Skinlosophy for sponsoring this product! ^.^

Store Review - LUSH

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about my online shopping experience with one of my favourite walk in stores - Lush! This is an online store review because I wanted to take advantage of Lush's half price boxing day sale while I was in Gisborne, which of course has no Lush store.

Website Practicality
I find Lush's website very practical and easy to browse, but not incredibly aesthetically pleasing. I'm not sure what it is about the home page, perhaps it's the lack of predominant "fun" colour throughout the site, or the busyness of the pages that irritates me, but I don't find it lovely to look at. However, it is very practical with the massive search bar at the top and a million downbars to choose from.

Price Comparison
I don't think I can really compare prices for Lush since they only sell their products in-store and online. I find their products to be well priced, sitting nicely between the cheap drugstore/supermarket brands and lower high end brands (only a couple of $100 moisturizers there!).

Shipping and Packaging
The standard flat rate shipping for Lush costs is $9.00NZD. My package came neatly wrapped in a box, with a Lush product pamphlet. Nothing was bubble wrapped or foam padded in the box, but nothing was harmed during shipping. I was surprised that the two glass jars in my package were not bubble wrapped, but I suppose that there was nothing else hard in the package for them to break on and no room to roll around.
 Products
I decided to splash out and buy a couple of products that have been on my wishlist for a while, a couple of limited edition products, and a couple specifically to take with me to Taiwan!

Lavender and juniper shampoo bar to control oily hair. Along with spots and exams, oily hair can be one of the most annoying things to torment your teenage years. Jumping Juniper cleans away grease and balances sebum production with lavender oil. Juniper sorts out an oily, congested scalp, while lemon and lime make your hair clean and shiny and give it an extra fresh scent. Juniper will get you jumping in no time.

I bought this solid shampoo bar specifically for my trip to Taipei and I have no regrets! It's a good size, super lightweight and leaves my hair feeling really clean and fresh for three days. It's currently tied in first place for my favourite shampoo along with Lush's BIG Shampoo!

A Christmassy red lip tint made with cherries and dates for sweet, kissable lips. Made with Fair Trade shea butter and nourishing carrot oil to soften and moisturise, and a cinammon-sweet, cola-flavoured taste of Christmas, Santa will be hurrying down the chimney tonight.

If you're looking at the product photos and wanting to vomit a little bit, I don't blame you. The surface of this Lip Tint looks like a glittery bacteria colony and you can bet your right foot that I took this into the store to be assessed before putting it anywhere near my mouth. Apparently the formula of the product isn't quite perfect, but it's perfectly safe to use. The cola smell is incredibly tasty, but this tint is very very matte and drying (not unlike MAC Ruby/Riri Woo) so beware dry lipped girls!

Make sure that your skin, moisturiser or Colour Supplement are completely dry before you apply a powder. Can be used with matching Colour Supplement. Once you’ve got the powder on the brush; tap off the excess. Make sure you brush evenly, outwards from the nose! Keep blending until the coverage is just right. Can be used on its own for a natural effect.

This translucent powder is surprisingly lovely! My only gripe with this product is the tiny packaging. It makes it very difficult to pick up the powder with a large powder brush and tap off the excess without powdering the entire floor.

Mix a little in with your favourite moisturiser or colour supplement. Or apply a thin layer between your moisturiser and colour supplement to brighten skin tone. Apply the product on the brow bone, cheek bone, eyelid, cupid’s bow or collar bone. This reflects the light from the skin to make it glow. Apply a little underneath the eye to cover dark circles.

This skin tint is absolutely gorgeous and works well as an illuminating primer as well as a highlighter! It is a little sticky, so I feel more comfortable setting this product with a powder which does take away a little of the glow it produces.

Let your skin be kissed by a rose with this sweetly floral shower gel. Wrap yourself in a comforting embrace with nourishing Moroccan argan oil, organic rose absolute and rose oil together with a Fair Trade vanilla pod infusion. This is an indulgent wash that lifts the spirits.

I haven't had time to try this shower gel yet, but it smells divine!

Jam packed with the fruity, candy smells of childhood. FUN is a novel, multi-purpose, mouldable soap! It’s for body, hair, bath and fun! That’s right, you can wash your hands and body with it; you can bathe with it for masses of bubbles; you can wash your clothes with it; and for even more fun you can mold it into shapes and characters. With a gentle softening base of corn flour, talc and glycerine, choose from five different types of FUN.

I've used an entire bar of pink fun previous to purchasing this one, and I really love this product for traveling! You can choose how much you take with you, it acts as a body wash, shampoo and bath bubbles! Super cute, smells divine and is perfect for a short or long trip.

Exfoliating scrub for your seating area. Use Buffy on wet skin, in the bath or the shower, to make you softer and smooth to the touch. Buff yourself all over, paying special attention to your backside; rinse off the ground up exfoliating bits of rice, almonds and beans and pat yourself dry. There’s no need for body lotion after a Buffy, because the cocoa and shea butters in it moisturise your skin beautifully. Slay that cellulite.

I've used a buffy body bar previous to purchasing this one and I absolutely love it! It exfoliates my skin while also leaving it touch-ably soft with zero effort.

Hardcore body scrub and butter bar to show skin how to behave. It’s black, fruity and it scrubs your skin really, really hard. Get soaked in the shower and start your punishment. You Snap The Whip forces your skin to submit to its pumice and charcoal regime. Once the wickedly effective exfoliation is over, it comforts you with luxurious macadamia nut oil and scents you with fruity blackcurrant and bergamot essential oils. Your skin feels as if you’ve just peeled off the old one and revealed a sexy new one (which you have, in a manner of speaking).

You Snap The Whip is a new product for me, and another one that I chose to take over to Taiwan with me! My first bar however was inexplicably faulty - it started melting as soon as I touched it and melted like butter in the shower. I took it into my Local Lush store and the girls there swapped it for a non faulty version for me. I'm absolutely loving using it, it makes me skin feel incredibly clean!

 What I Love
- Quick shipping
- Cheap shipping for large orders ($9NZD Flat Rate)
- Easy to use website
- Great customer service for faulty exchanges

What I Don't Love
- No bubble wrapping on glass products

Final Thoughts
Although I really enjoyed my online shopping experience with Lush, I still much prefer to actually walk into the store to buy my products! The store always smells divine and you can touch and see the products which I think is so much fun, (my local store always demo's the new products for me! ^.^), but shopping online with half price is still a pretty decent experience in a pinch!

First Impressions - Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about Benefit's It's Potent! Eye Cream. I got this itty bitty miniature eye cream when I purchased Benefit's Porefessional last, last year (2013) and have been using it on and off since then!
What Does It Do?
"Your eyes can't keep a secret...they're the first to show signs of age & stress. It's potent! eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts and loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.

How to apply
Apply delicately under the eyes." (1)
This eye cream is housed in a super cute miniature jar, (which I will totally keep and fill up with other products for traveling) and has lasted me forever and a half - and by that I mean like a whole year! The eye cream is really thick, but absorbs relatively quickly. It makes my under eye area feel hydrated and smooth, but I haven't seen any wrinkle smoothing effects over the past year of use.
Would I Purchase This Product?
No, this eye cream is relatively expensive in New Zealand, and although it makes my eyes feel quite moisturized and smooth, it doesn't help my under eye wrinkles and fine lines at all, (and for the price I would expect it would!).

Review - 3CE Lip Pigment; Bright Orange

(Sponsored)
Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about an interesting little product from 3 Concept Eyes. This is my first experience with a lip pigment like this, and I can honestly say that I really love some aspects of this pigment, and quite dislike some other aspects! This product was kindly sponsored by Skinlosophy! ^.^
The 3 Concept Eyes Lip Pigment costs $15AUD from Skinlosophy and comes housed in a little cardboard box with only Korean instructions. Admittedly, I did have to Google instructions on how to use this products because when I first squeezed some product out of the little tube it was really watery and confusing!
This product has sturdy packaging which is great for travel or storage in a handbag. The tip cover screws on, and the rest of the product is housed in a soft plastic tube. It won't break or spill, even if your bag gets squished!
3 Concept Eyes Lip Pigment is a multitasking product that can work as a lipstick and a blush.

With a creamy formulation, the product blends seamlessly into lips and skin for an opaque or sheer finish.

Blend this lip pigment with other shades for original, flattering colours to suit your individuality and style.

The product itself is thick and super pigmented, you need very little for cheeks or lips, but the coverage and colour are easily buildable from a soft peach to vibrant orange. This product works as both a blush and a lip colour which I absolutely love! As I've said many times, I love double duty products because it helps me narrow down the massive list of products I usually take with me when I travel, and saves on storage space!
It's very easy to use this product as a blush, but do remember to work quickly as the product dries quite fast! I use my fingers to create a subtle peach cheek, but it's also easy to apply this product with a sponge (for sheerer coverage) or brush (for a vibrant finish). If like me, you use a translucent powder over the top of the pigment, be aware that it will blend and sheer the product out, so you may want to apply a little more than you think is perfect to counter this effect.
The Lip Pigment looks absolutely gorgeous as a lip tint, with one light layer of pigment giving me a sheer, matte, peachy pink lip, and two layers a more vibrant orange. It doesn't wear too well (especially when eating oily food) so I did have to touch up my lip colour after eating, but was pleasant to wear otherwise, not drying out my lips or being too sticky and goopy!

What I Love
- Well priced ($15AUD)
- You can buy a white mixer colour
- You can mix colours easily
- Non drying, good for dry lips

What I Don't Love
- Product is quite messy to apply (especially for touch ups)
- Doesn't wear well during eating or drinking
- Dries fast, so needs to be blended quickly
Final Thoughts
I really like this Lip Pigment! Initially I was quite cautious of the bright orange appearance straight out of the tube, but when blended out it becomes a gorgeous, wearable peach. I love that it can be built up to a brighter colour, this makes it really easy to make a cute gradient on the lips, but re-application of the product while out and about is quite taxing and messy. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to create cute custom coloured lip or cheek colours with ease! ^.^

You can purchase the 3 Concept Eyes Lip Pigment in Bright Orange from Skinlosophy for $15AUD here!
