Review and Giveaway: Eye of Horus Nubian Brown Goddess Pencil

(Sponsored)
Hello Princesses!

You guys know how much I love the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara? Well, today I'm going to be reviewing another products from Eye of Horus' line, the Nubian Brown Goddess Pencil! ^.^ My package came beautifully wrapped in black tissue paper with the Eye of Horus sticker closing it. Eye of Horus thoughtfully included some informative pamphlets and a thank you card inside the package.
These little pamphlets teach you how to use the products effectively, as well as how to care for your products to ensure a long life! Since both the Goddess Mascara and Goddess Pencils are wax and oil based, it's essential to keep them out of direct sunlight so that the products (especially the pencil!) don't melt.
Nubian Goddess Pencil from the depths of the Nile, the untamed essence of the Nubian Princess bestows her gifts of wild smouldering beauty.
Matte deepest velvet brown pigments transform the everyday Goddess into an alluring Temptress.

  • This gorgeous pencil doubles as a brow pencil - use the smudger to blend,
    defining & framing the eyes
  • A creamy rich formula that is easy to apply and is long-lasting
  • Waterproof & smudge-proof
  • Resists oil and perspiration with no fading
Made with a combination of waxes - Beeswax, Carnauba wax and Candelilla wax, our formula is easily removed with warm water yet has the staying power to last all day! Non-irritating, nourishing and great for sensitivities. Paraben Free.
Due to the beautiful natural soft waxes & oils in our pencils, a high grade cosmetic sharpener must be used to clean and maintain the integrity of the pencil.
The first thing that I noticed about this pencil is the length. The smudger adds the illusion of extra length to what is an ordinary sized pencil, but this just means that the actual pencil hasn't been sacrificed in place of a smudger. The pencil is longer than anything I own already, but it's definitely in favor of value for money!
The pencil is super soft, creamy and beautifully opaque. It glides on like a dream, even on my usually resistant waterline. This pencil is fantastic for people like me that forget that they're wearing makeup and rub their faces accidentally, because it's totally smudge/budge/cry proof. I've had a 2 hour cry session while wearing the Goddess Mascara, and apart from having red eyes like a heavy drug user, my eyes looked perfect. As long as you don't rub your eyes while crying (dabbing is the best way to mop up the tears) your mascara will stay looking gorgeous even through the tears!
My favorite way to use this pencil is to fill in my brows! I use an angled brow brush to fill in my brows with the liner to create a more natural look, but if you want a thicker brow, you can use the pencil by itself! This works really well for my left eyebrow (not pictured) where I have a bald patch due to chickenpox scars. The liner glides over the scarred skin and stays put all day, where other brow products rub off the thick skin after a short period of time.
I also use the pencil to create a natural eyeliner look. I line the inner and outer thirds of my top lash line with an angled brush or a gel eyeliner brush. This is my favorite way to use brown liner, since the brown looks more casual with my dark hair and fair complexion. To create a more dramatic look, I use the liner straight from the pencil to tightline my upper lashline, and follow this up with liquid liner to create the top line and wing. The tightlining makes my lashes appear super thick and full, and since the pencil is smudge-proof, it doesn't transfer down to my lower waterline like other liners do, which helps me avoid the dreaded panda eye.

This eyeliner is supposed to be smudge-able on application, but I don't find this very smudge-able at all, in fact more the opposite! You can smudge it if you work very quickly, but I find that the smudger sheers out the liner quite a lot. I don't use it for that purpose, so it doesn't bother me at all, I prefer the un smudgeableness of the liner!
Both the pencil and mascara last all day! This is how they looked after 12 hours of wear. (I know it's not very healthy to wear makeup that long, but sometimes I have to!) The liner has faded slightly on my inner lid, but the mascara and brows have lasted well, with no under-eye smudging and no need to wipe concealer/foundation from under my eyes.
Do I need to tell you all about my favorite mascara again? It's smudge-proof, cry-proof, volumizing, lengthening and great for your lashes! It's my holy grail of mascaras, and I'm still in love 1 and a half tubes later! If you haven't already, check out my  Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara review!
Lashes, lashes, lashes!

I also made a video demonstrating the products! This is my first Youtube video, so please leave some constructive criticism if you would like (but be nice!) I know it's quite quiet, and the quality isn't fantastic, but any other comments are much appreciated!

Things I Love
- Smudge-proof, cry-proof, un-budgeable!
- Easy to apply
- Can be used for dramatic or natural looks depending on application
- Can be used on eyes or brows
- Cruelty Free
- Easy to remove with water

Things I Don't Love
- The price higher than drugstore, but not as high as a luxury brand
- Doesn't smudge when I want it to

Final Thoughts
I really love both the Goddess Mascara and the Goddess Pencil! Both of the negative aspects of this product don't apply for me personally since price is not an issue, and I don't smudge my eyeliner, but I thought they were worth mentioning!

Manicure Monday: Pastel Floral

Hello Princesses!

Today I have some cute pastel floral nails! I saw a similar nail design while creeping on Pinterest a while ago, but cannot find the original picture! I can safely say that I well and truly suck at nail art, I can't even draw curved lines let along draw straight ones! -.-
I had a couple of nail casualties on my other hand which I usually don't photograph anyway, so I had cut them shorter and rounder! The design still looks super cute on short nails though!
For the manicure I used OPI's Second Honeymoon and Planks A Lot for the purple and pink. The gold beads come from Born Pretty Store, and I can't quite remember where the nail decals came from since they're quite old!

I'm also trying out the watermark around my nail instead of somewhere in the corner, what do you princesses think?

Important Post: Identity Theft Is A Crime

 Hello Princesses!

I'm very sorry to be interrupting my usual Blogger Tips posts, but there is a very important topic that I would like to talk to you princesses about. Identity Theft. This is a serious issue, because Identity theft is a serious crime, just as defamation can be a very serious crime. This basically means that someone impersonating you by taking your identity, making racial slurs, using rude language and making you look bad can end up with very serious consequences. Today I'm going to be talking about my minor experience with identity theft.

A little while ago I had a random Facebook message on my blog page asking me if I had a Line account, which I do not. Through a little chatting, I found out that she and a couple of her friends had been chatting to someone who was using my pictures and pretending to be me. They started getting suspicious that she wasn't actually me, and the girl in question started getting nasty. I asked the girls to provide me with screenshots of their conversations and here we are!

This girl (who's name actually comes up as Amelia, which is NOT my real name) was using some really old photos of mine from circle lens reviews - which is a little insulting really since I haven't worn lenses in over a year, and was basically writing out my About Me section on my blog to describe herself.
Grammar. Please. If you're pretending to be me at least spell correctly and use proper grammar.
Claiming to be "All over the internet" is embarrassing to me and to you. Also the link she provided has a .CA end, rather than a .NZ end, signifying a different part of the world. (http://littleporcelainprincess.blogspot.co.nz/p/about-me_17.html)
So when the girls asked her to prove that she's the real me, she started getting pretty nasty.
So instead she decided to show a photo of her and her husbands hands, time stamped to prove she was me, which is when the girls chatting to her become super suspicious, and I'm just sitting here with my mouth hanging on the floor. Husband?? Are you joking?? My hands are on my blog EVERY MONDAY, and they sure as hell don't look like that.
I'm going to go out on a wing and say that this person impersonating me is a lot older, and therefore also should know better! That may sound really mean, but either her camera is really bad, she's super un-hygenic and doesn't clean her rings, or is older and married for a while, which explains the dulled rings and chipped polish. I'm in my 20's guys.
Not to mention the nails. COME ON. I'm going to sound like a massive beeeechacho, but our fingers and nails are completely different. I can only imagine that she cropped the photo so you can't see her STRAIGHT pinkie, since mine has quite a distinct and rare bend, and my rather apparent index finger vein from excessive flute playing. Don't try and impersonate me via your hands, how dare you. (Can you feel the rage?)
She also failed to remember that I live in New Zealand, and timestamped her own hands incorrectly.
Then things got a little uglier.
These messages make my skin crawl.
I'm supposed to be married! This flirting is disgusting, as is "Lawls".
Babe? I'm supposed to be married!

Don't treat me differently? Don't make me vomit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that putting sensitive information on the internet makes me a target for people impersonating, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it or condone it. It makes me feel sick that people are using my photos to catfish (even worse when it's my older lens/camwhore photos) and calling me babe, even though it's not me. She seems to flirt with one of the people, but tells the other people that she's married, what does she want?
If I sound extremely mad in this post, it's because I am. Nothing gives someone the right to steal someone else's identity, even though this person did a terrible job at it. Put yourself in my shoes, how would you feel if someone was using your photos, identity and hard hard work to get attention and possibly money online. How do you think the people she scammed/tricked feel? It's not a good feeling, and I feel that I'm entitled to my little rage post.
I'm so thankful that this is the only person to impersonate me (so far at least, *touch wood*), and also because the people she talked to were able to spot a "fake" so quickly. I'm a lot more bothered by the fact that Line is notorious for people being scammed financially, and I'm glad that she didn't start asking people for money, under the pretense that it was me.

I will NEVER ask you for money. I will never approach you on social media apart from the social media linked on my blog, if in doubt, ask for appropriate pictures, or send me an email or Facebook message! It never hurts to be too cautious now days, since it's so easy to copy a photo and a bio off the internet.

I've never been more happy to be using my middle name on a public website.

First Impressions: LUSH Fair Trade Honey Shampoo

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about Lush's Fair Trade Honey Shampoo! I was given this little pot of golden goodness when I purchased a full size of Angels on Bare Skin, and I thought I'd give it a quick First Impression review since I don't have much luck with Lush's hair care range usually!

What Is It?

Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo

"Over half of this shampoo consists of Fairly Traded honey, which is beautifully moisturizing and gives hair shine and luster. All that honey has allowed us to make this one preservative-free, too! While 50% is honey, 20% is linseed mucilage, which has a lovely texture and is moisturizing and conditioning. Fairly Traded Honey is suitable for almost everyone, but with all these moisturizing ingredients, it is specifically lovely on hair in need of moisture

Ingredients
Fairly Traded Honey , Linseed Mucilage (Linum usitatissimum) , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Sunflower Lecithin (Lecithin) , Lauryl Betaine , Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens) , Beeswax Absolute , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Rose Absolute (Rosa damascena) , Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia) , *Citral , *Geraniol , Citronellol , *Limonene , *Linalool , *Benzyl Salicylate , *Eugenol , Benzyl Benzoate , *Farnesol , Hydroxycitronellol , Fragrance " (1)
It has the scent and appearance of a quite thin honey (since it contains 50% honey!) but it's quite a heavy and sweet scent. This may sound like a no-brainer, but if you don't like the smell of honey, stay away from this shampoo because, like every Lush shower item I've tried, it will leave a lingering scent on everything, including your shower, towels, pillows and clothes.

I find that this shampoo works really well for my hair, it lathers well and it gave me a really good deep clean without leaving my hair feeling stripped or dry. I quite like the smell while I'm doing my hair, although I dislike sniffing it straight from the pot because it's so potent!

Would I Purchase This Product?
Yes! I really liked using this shampoo, and at $36.90NZD for 500g it's a reasonably priced product since you don't really need to use too much. I quite like the honey scent, and it keeps my hair looking heavy or greasy! This is being added to the list of LUSH products that I would be happy to recommend to my friends! ^. ~

What are your favorite LUSH products? I'd love to try out some more!
