Reveiw: Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara

Hello Princesses!
Today I'm going to be talking about the best mascara I have tried so far - the Eye Of Horus Goddess Mascara. I won this on Nail Girl's giveaway almost a year ago, and after a solid 6 months of using this mascara, I think I can finally give a good thorough review on it!
When I entered Nail Girl's giveaway I had no idea what this product was, and how much I would actually like it! After reading the pamphlets that Lexie sent me, I was even more confused than before - a wax made mascara? Removable with water? Strengthens your lashes? Is this magic mascara?
"Ideal for sensitive eyes, Eye of Horus Mascara strengthens and lengthens for ultimate Goddess lashes. Naturally formulated in the style of the ancient Egyptians with plant based ingredients and Waxes including:
O    Carnauba Wax
O    Beeswax
O    Rice Bran Wax
O    Candelilla Wax

Designed to accentuate and enhance the natural beauty of your Lashes, our Goddess Mascara:
O    Wont irritate eyes or sting
O    Easily removable use warm water to melt and dissolve waxes
O    Coats lashes evenly
O    Flexible brush glides with the lashes and curls & enhances lashes naturally
O    Natural based formula wont clump or clog
O    Conditions, nourishes and strengthens lash structure to assist with lash growth
O    Treatment that cares for your lashes" (1)

The wand is my favorite type of wand with stiff bristles that separate and lengthen your lashes. It has a slight hourglass shape that helps curl your lashes, and it has the same regular mascara smell .

The first time I used this mascara just made me even more confused than before (if that's even possible!) because I usually coat my lashes, wait for the formula to dry, comb out my lashes and apply another coat. When I tried to comb out the first coat of mascara, I found that the mascara stretched (like chewing gum) and I couldn't get the clumpy bits out! Then when I tried to remove it with an oil based remover, it wouldn't budge! Whaaaaat.

Obviously I needed to read the pamphlets again. The next time I tried the mascara it went smoothly and I had gorgeous full lashes in no time! My natural lashes are a pretty regular length and thickness, but this mascara makes them look ultra lush! I took some before and after photos over a couple of months of wearing the mascara. Some of these photos have been airbrushed to smooth out the milia around my eyes, but I haven't touched the actual lashes. Click to enlarge any photos!
(First week of using mascara)
(After 2 months)

The removal is (almost) the best part of this mascara. I usually hate removing my mascara because I feel like it tugs too harshly on my delicate under eye area, so removing this mascara just using warm water and my fingertips is a godsend. It also does really strengthen and lengthen your natural lashes! You can see that my lashes have grown a little during the two months I used this mascara. I don't expect super dramatic growth like I would if I was using a growth serum like Lilash or Revitalash, but for a mascara I was pretty impressed!

My most favorite part of this mascara is the ultimate smudge proof ness (not a word). I always get mascara smudges under my eyes because my lower lashes touch the skin (a combination of long/ish lashes and puffy eye bags haha) but this mascara does not budge! It's even totally cry proof as long as you don't rub your eyes. I cried for an hour straight while wearing this mascara (girl problems!) and my lashes still looked PERFECT. I wish I took a photo, but I was too distraught.
I wore this mascara in my Oasis BB Cream review which is why these photos have a different watermark.

 What I Love
- Strengthens and Lengthens natural lashes
- Waterproof/cry proof
- Gentle to remove with warm water
- Makes my lashes look long and lush
- Smudge proof

What I Don't Love
- It's a little pricey at $44NZD
Final Thoughts
I love love love love LOVE this mascara. Everything about it is absolutely perfect for me, and even though it's more expensive than a normal drugstore mascara, I'd still prefer to pay more to get a better quality mascara. It's smudge/cry/water proof, gentle to remove, and makes your natural lashes even better, so what's not to love about this product!

I'd like to thank Lexie from Nail Girl for having a giveaway on this product, because I probably wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't won it!

What do you princesses think of this mascara? Have you ever tried the Eye of Horus brand before?

Manicure Monday: Sunshine, Kitties and Roses

Hello Princesses!

Today I have a super happy manicure! I'm still on my mission to try out all of the items I bought from my Born Pretty Store haul - and today I decided to use the Funny White Cat Printed Nail Art Water Decals Transfer Stickers and the Cute Heart Flower Bowknot Resin 3D Nail Art Stickers.
To create the watercolour base, I used Zoya's Gaia for a nice shimmery white base colour, (you can use a matte white if you don't want shimmer), and then used a makeup sponges to dab colours randomly or diagonally along my nails. I used my favorite/only quick dry top coat - Porsche to seal and blend the polish. I really love the end result (even though I'm not usually a big fan of yellow polishes) because it just looks so super happy, like little Sunshines, Kitties and Roses! ^.^

The little kitty decal worked perfectly, and the roses worked great as well! I'm so pleased that the Kitty decals worked so well because they were really cheap!

What do you princesses think of this manicure? Too cutesy?

Sunday Swatches: Volumer Swatches

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be showing you my collection of Volumer samples! Volumers can be mixed with a foundation or BB Cream to give you glowy and dewy skin, and they can also be used as a highlighter! The Etude House Nymph Aura Volumers are incredibly popular, and since there are three different types I thought it would be helpful to swatch them so that you princesses can compare the different colours, textures and effects!
TonyMoly Luminous Goddess Aura Beam
Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer 1
Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer 2
Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer 3

Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer 2 is definitely my favorite out of all of these volumers, (it reminds me of Benefit High Beam), and Etude House Nymph Volumer 1 is my least favorite! (It's super super sticky :S)

I hope this Sunday Swatches session was helpful for you princesses! ^.^ Feel free to share these swatch pictures - but please put a link to this post if you do share! xx

First Impression: Skin 79 Super Plus Blemish Balm Orange BB Cream

Hello Princesses!

This is probably the worst First Impression I've ever done, because I only had one sample sachet of this BB Cream and used half of it to photograph a Sunday Swatches (BB Cream Edition) blogpost. -.-' I also had to leave the house quite suddenly while I was testing and photographing this blogpost - so it won't be very interesting or photoheavy.

What Is It?
"Skin 79 Super Plus Blemish Balm Orange BB Cream.
- Eco friendly ingredients provides soft supple skin. Plant based ingredients infuse the skin with moisture by controlling your oil and moisture balance.
- Matte Finish! Fast absorbing, light weight formula leaves skin with a soft, matte finish.
- Safe for outdoor exposure, with high SPF Protection. Facial Sunscreen with a higher level of SPF which helps defend better and longer from harmful UVA and UVB Rays.
- Contains Vitamin Complex for lively Skin. Multi-Vitamins maintains vital moisture without the feeling of being thick and heavy." (1)

I was so excited to try this product since I was such a fan of the Diamond Prestige BB Cream by Skin 79 - but couldn't wear it as it was too dark for my skintone. The Skin 79 Orange and Green BB Cream are touted as some of the palest BB Creams (the Green BB Cream being the palest and cool toned, the Orange BB Cream being second palest and warm toned) so it seemed obvious that I would try the Orange BB Cream first, being a warm skinned girl. However, I could never find sample sachets of either of these BB Creams to test, so when this sample sachet was gifted to me I was totally over the moon!
This BB Cream is a pretty good match for my ghostly pale skin. It's perhaps slightly too dark, but I think it's totally wearable for casual shopping and everyday business. This BB Cream has quite light coverage, but covered my lighter acne scars, pores and freckles without making my skin look too mask-like.

Would I Purchase This Product?
Yes! I really liked the texture, coverage, colour and formula of this BB Cream. It's not too dewy since it's formulated for oily skin and it had great staying power. I think I'm going to grab the full size of both Orange and Green BB Cream since I liked the Orange, and I know the Green is a shade lighter!

What do you princesses think of this BB Cream? Have you tried any of the infamous Skin79 BB Creams?
