Manicure Monady: Peaches and Puppy Love

Hello Princesses!

Today I have a super simple manicure using PiCture POlish's Peaches n' Cream with Kleancolor's Puppy Love for my accent nail.
I picked up Puppy Love from Lani's destash, and was pleasantly surprised with how much I actually love this polish! I'm a sucker for opaque sparkly glitters and this one is an absolutely gorgeous colour! I first tried this manicure over the summer holiday when I was only allowed to take a handful of polishes and really liked the combination of peach and blue, however the peach looks a little funny with my skintone. :C Oh well - I still love how this manicure turned out anyway!

Do you princesses have polishes that don't suit your skin tone, but you wear anyway because they're just awesome polishes? ^.^

Manicure Monday: Glitter Skittle

Hello Princesses!

Today's Manicure Monday is a Glitter Skittle! ^.^ My original idea was to use my Kleancolor glitters or the skittle, but it turns out that I don't actually have five matching Kleancolor glitter polishes, so I had to use OPI's Last Friday Night on my ring finger, and Teenage Dream on my thumb to complete the Skittle!
The Skittle looks a little wonky (Last Friday Night is sheerer than the rest of the glitters), but I think it still looks pretty cute! ^.^

Fail Pale Products: Foundations / BB Creams

Hello Princesses!

Today I'm going to be talking about some of my foundation and BB Cream fails!

I've tried a lot of Foundations, BB Creams, CC Creams and Concealers since I started blogging. I usually try to ask for testers or samples before buying foundations since my colour is not a "standard" colour. Sometimes I cannot get samples, or they don't have testers, but are cheap enough that I just buy them without trying, so I end up with a lot of products that are not quite right.

At a rough guesstimate, I would say that I have tried about 80 odd foundations, BB Creams and CC Creams. This may seem like a lot, but if you think that at least half of those have been in tester or sample form, then it seems a lot less insane! Out of all of those foundations, BB Creams and CC Creams, I have found under 10 that are the right colour.

Sometimes there are some products that I cannot really review, because they are too dark for me to wear for a whole day. If I can't tell you about how it wears, (oxidisation, oil control, lasting power etc) all I'm going to be telling you is what colour it really is! So I thought that I would show you guys some swatches of products that I couldn't review, aka, Fail Pale Products!

(Click on the images to enlarge)

First up is Kleancolor's Velvet Moisturizing Liquid Foundation in Translucent Beige.
This was a very cheap buy, ($6NZD) for what looked like a super light coloured foundation. But when I came home to wear it, it turns out that it really is translucent! It doesn't cover pores, scars, redness or any veins. It's literally a tinted moisturizer that doesn't really moisturize or provide any benefits for my skin.
Next up is L.A Girl's Perfecting Liquid Makeup in Ivory.
This was another cheapie, ($7NZD) that looked so promising, but turned out to be the wrong colour and with an awful consistency! It just kinda moved around my skin without sitting, or absorbing, or doing anything but looking flakey and horrible. Urch!
Here are the arm swatches from Kleancolor and L.A Girl. You can't really see anything in the last picture because they really just disappear. How am I supposed to review products that just disappear? *grumblewasteofmoneycheapproductsgrumble*

The next set of swatches are from one off samples and the Rimmel and L.A Girl, which are in there for no good reason at all really.

Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation - Warm Ivory
Rimmel London BB Cream - Light
Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Cream
Etude House Precious Mineral Cotton Fit BB Cream - W13
L.A Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup - Ivory
The next set of swatches are from my semi-recent ASOS haul, where I bought some Rimmel London products that turned out to look a lot different to online swatches.
The Rimmel London Match Perfection in Light Porcelain is a pretty good match in paleness for me, but is quite pink-toned and therefore not very suitable. The other products are laughably dark considering that they are the lightest colour in their range. The BB Cream is the darkest out of the three products.
Left; Rimmel BB Cream, Light. Right; Rimmel Stay Matte, Ivory.
My last set of swatches is from my latest destash of Foundations and BB Creams. I tried to order them from lightest to darkest, but some are a little out!

I still have a lot of Foundations, BB Creams and CC Creams to photograph, catalogue, so I'm sure there will be a part 2 to the Fail Pale Products! I hope this was helpful for people looking for moderately pale foundations and BB Creams!

Manicure Monday: Chunky Holo Teal

Hello Princesses!

I seem to be starting a collection of Kleancolor polishes. In fact, I think I own more Kleancolor polishes than any other brand at the moment! >< This is 100% because the girls of PANZ seem to destash them at ridiculously low prices, and the budget hoarder in me cannot resist any polish if it's $1! ><

This Monday i'm wearing Kleancolor's Chunky Holo Teal over Sally Hansons FlashThis combination never fails to make me smile! ^^ Especially after my last stressful week :/

On another note, I'd like to talk a teensy bit about link bombing! ^^ (Don't get too scared yet! ;)

You guys are more than welcome to leave your blog link in the comment bar if you would like me to check it out. In fact, I quite like checking out new blogs (especially Korean makeup blogs, can't get enough of that!) so I'd love for you to leave your link if you want to comment on my post!

However

I will not tolerate people who leave their link for their own personal promotion. Especially if their blog has absolutely nothing in common with mine, or if the comment is one of the standard, Such a sweet post. Check out my blog blah blah blah type comment. This is done for self promotion and I am not a fan. I will most likely just delete your comment.

I do not want to follow you just because you follow me. The same rules as the link promotion apply. If we have nothing in common, I'm probably not going to want to follow you. If you want to follow me, fantastic! But hopefully you are following me because you WANT to, not because you think you are going to gain another follower.

It's quite annoying when someone that you are already following comments 3 times on your posts asking you to follow them, and they'll follow you back straight after! Really? I'm not going to name and shame, but if you know who you are please stop it.

I'm sorry for being a little mean :C but hopefully you guys understand! ^^

 Don't forget to subscribe! (:
